Natural products and remedies have gained lots of awareness, attention, and desire from consumers.

One necessity that has gained recognition and traction through the years is the impact that the quality of a house’s indoor air has on one’s health. Studies are continuously finding solutions that can be quite effective; however, the majority are temporary. There is a list of resolutions we could go on about; such as humidifiers, essential oil diffusers, Himalayan salt lamps etc.

But did you know that natural stone has been proven to have positive effects on the quality of indoor spaces? A homes building materials or accents used around the home could be a more permanent solution for improving air quality! For starters, the natural stone industry uses stone products that have immense advantages over other similar products used in the building materials industry. Many products used have something called Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) – chemicals that have a high vapour pressure and are quite toxic to air quality. The list of products that use VOCs is long: carpet, some hardwood floors, cabinetry, some types of furniture, adhesives, paint, and the list goes on

Natural stone, on the other hand, has an incredible advantage – it’s natural. Natural stones are a building material that does not contain or emit any VOCs. You can also purchase tile adhesives and grouts for stones that are low in VOCs. Natural stone is also a durable material, which will likely outlast many other building industry standard materials; inevitably resulting in less construction material waste and environmental impact. The hard, solid surfaces of stone can’t be penetrated by harmful allergens such as dirt, dust and pollen. These particles can rather be easily wiped away, causing less pollution to the air surrounding.

Who knew that the products used in your home to enhance beauty could also have a positive effect on your body, and the eco-system as well? Contact us for the restoration of your stone to keep it not only pleasing to look at but retain its health to let it boost yours!
