Crystallization is a chemical buffing process that adds shine to marble and other calcium-based stone.

Definition
A chemical is buffed in with steel wool or pads. It's quick, but it won't fix deep damage, and overdone it builds up unevenly and can make floors slippery.
Why it matters
It has a place in regular maintenance, but it shouldn't be used to hide damage that needs repair.
