What we do
Honing means grinding the worn top layer of the stone smooth with diamond pads. Polishing then brings the shine back. We do the whole surface, so it comes out even, without the patchy shine that store-bought polish leaves.
Timing: half a day to a full day for counters; one to three days for a kitchen floor or small lobby.
We confirm the stone and its finish, and whether the dullness is wear or etching.
Diamond pads grind out scratches and worn paths.
Finer pads bring the shine up to the finish you chose.
We seal the stone if it needs it.
