Restore vs. replace

Most worn kitchen and bathroom stone can be saved.

Replacing stone means tearing out counters or floors, matching new stone to the rest of the house, and weeks of construction. Restoring etched marble, dull granite, stained travertine, or a worn shower often takes a day or two, at a fraction of the cost.

If a piece is past saving, we'll tell you. If not, you keep the stone you chose and paid for. The cost guide explains how the price is worked out.
