What we do
Stains soak into stone, so the colour sits inside it. Oil, rust, ink, and organic stains each need a different treatment, and the wrong one can set a stain for good.
Timing: about an hour to assess; most poultices need 24 to 48 hours on the stone, and deep stains may need a second visit.
We ask what was spilled and when, and check that it's a stain and not an etch.
The paste draws the stain up out of the stone.
Light polishing evens out the surface if it looks different once the stain is gone.
Sealer slows the next spill from soaking in.
