Granite · Stain Removal
Granite doesn't etch like marble, but many slabs, especially lighter and exotic granites, absorb oil, coffee, and rust. The stain sits inside the stone while the surface still feels smooth. We test how fast your granite absorbs, draw the colour out with a poultice, and reseal.
Quick diagnosis
Oil stains usually darken the stone but leave the finish smooth. If a cleaner has also stripped the shine, you may need the polish restored as well as a poultice.

Restore vs replace
Replacing granite means new templates and disconnecting the plumbing. Most oil and rust stains lift, or lighten enough that you don't need a new top.
Repair path
Oil, organic, rust, water, and mould stains each need a different poultice, following Natural Stone Institute guidelines.
An absorbent powder (diatomaceous earth, kaolin, or baking soda) and the right liquid, mixed to a paste like peanut butter.
Spread 6 to 12 mm thick and covered with plastic for 24 to 48 hours. As it dries, it pulls the stain out.
Stubborn stains can take several rounds. Deep rust or old oil often needs professional products.
If the spill also etched the stone, we hone and polish, then seal.
