Why this product
For stains that soaked in
Draws stains out of stone when surface cleaning can't reach them.
Takes 48 hours
The poultice works over 48 hours. It isn't a quick spray and wipe.
Then protect
Once the stain is out, seal the stone and use the right daily cleaner.
In context
Made for the kinds of stone we restore every week across the GTA.

For dark stains that have soaked into a counter. The poultice draws the stain out over 48 hours, so it isn't a quick wipe.

Wine and oil marks on vanity tops. Cover it, wait, and let the poultice do the work.
Full description
Draws oil, wine, coffee, and other food stains out of stone when wiping only spreads the mark.
Poultice Stain Remover draws stains out of marble, limestone, terrazzo, and other stone that absorbs liquid, once the stain has soaked in deeper than a cloth can reach. If the mark is darker than the stone, you know what spilled (coffee, oil, wine), and wiping hasn't shifted it, try a poultice.
The poultice soaks the stain back up out of the stone and into the paste. That takes about 48 hours: 24 hours under plastic wrap to keep it moist and working, then 24 hours uncovered while it dries and finishes drawing the stain out. When poulticing seems not to work, it was usually rushed or left uncovered.
One kit treats up to about 2 square feet. That's sized for a typical counter stain, a foyer mark, or a vanity spot, not a whole floor. Large or very old stains may need a second round once the stone is fully dry and the first round has lightened the stain without removing it.
Make sure it's a stain before you start. A stain is colour that soaked in from a spill. An etch is a pale, dull patch where acid damaged the polish, and the stone often still feels smooth. A poultice won't bring the shine back to an etch. That needs the Marble Refinishing Kit for small areas or professional refinishing for large ones.
Rust, deep oil, and old stains can be stubborn because they've bonded with the stone over months. Several rounds, with the stone drying fully in between, often work where one doesn't. If a shadow is still there after two full rounds, have it assessed. It may need refinishing, a replacement tile, or a different stain treatment.

How to use
Poulticing takes 48 hours. Block off the area, keep people away from the covered patch, and don't peel the plastic early. If the paste dries out too soon, it stops drawing the stain.
Check it's a stain
Stains are darker than the stone and come from a spill. Pale, dull etch marks from acid need the refinishing kit or professional refinishing instead.
Mix and apply
Mix it as instructed and spread it ¼ inch thick, a little past the stain's edge.
Cover for 24 hours
Plastic wrap keeps the poultice moist so it can draw the stain out of the stone.
Dry, remove, rinse
Remove the wrap and let it dry for 24 hours. Scrape it off gently, rinse, and check. If the stain is gone, seal with 314P.
Tip: Old stains may need a second round. Let the stone dry fully before you try again.

We match cleaners, treatments, and sealers to your type of stone and its finish.
