About this stone
Onyx is a translucent, banded stone, often backlit on bars, vanities, and feature walls. Acids etch it fast, scratches show on the polish, and light shining through makes a poor repair easy to see.
It reacts to acids like marble but is more brittle. We grind back as little as possible so the stone stays clear, not cloudy.

Where you see it
Finishes we restore: High polish (shows etching and scratches) · Honed matte (hides some wear, still etches) · Backlit panels (thin spots and fills show when lit)
Restore vs replace
Replacing onyx means sourcing and fabricating a specialty slab. Honing and polishing a sound panel often saves the feature wall.
Problems we fix
Pick what you're seeing. The fix depends on the damage and on how onyx reacts to it.
