About this stone
Soapstone is soft, rich in talc, and absorbs little, which makes it popular for kitchen counters and farmhouse sinks. Some owners oil it dark; others let it go grey. Scratches are part of its look until they build up unevenly.
Acids don't etch it, but knives and pots mark it. Oil darkens it for looks and doesn't seal it. We re-oil evenly, smooth out deep scratches, and repair chips.

Where you see it
Finishes we restore: Oiled dark (kept up by the owner) · Natural matte grey (lightens with use) · Honed smooth (before oiling)
Restore vs replace
Replacing soapstone still means templating and plumbing. Even re-oiling, scratch blending, and chip repair restore most counters in one or two visits.
